GOTHIC PAINTBALL TEAM??

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

GOTHIC PAINTBALL TEAM??

Post by Deadpool »

I just read the old Metro Pulse ad that there is a paintball team. Can I play?Who's involved with this and how many players? Is it speedball or woodland scenario? :kill: :bangbang:

I play, but I haven't played with anyone on here. We play both speedball and woodland in north Knox County. It's mainly friends of mine from high school, but we're always looking for more. One of my friends likes to bring CS grad students from UT. Most of them have never played. Easy targets! The last game had nearly 25 people.
The next time they're going to play is the 31st, but I'm not sure if I'll be playing or going out of town. I'll have to let you know.

As far as I know ,officially there isn't.Unless the article is refering to the one Sir Diddimus is talking about.I was involved in paintball with some of the the people on this website late last year/early this year.Myself, The Countess, Seraph Antaine, and The Thin White Duke were the main people that showed up most of the time. TTWD's brother and his friend Jon would also come down. Even Bone played once. There were a handful of others.I wouldn't mind geting together sometime.

There's a 24 hour game in Fayettville,TN at Bear Claw paintball on Sept.6-7.Will anyone be going?Hopefully I'll have enough by then.

If anyone is interested,Wal-marts in this area now have Tippman 98 starter packages for about $170 or so. A GREAT beginner gun that really performs and will last.

I bought my gun at Wally World. It's really not a bad gun at all. It handles air very well. Doesn't seem to waste much air, and shoots very straight. I really enjoy it. Plus, it was on clearance when I bought it.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, outlaw woodland stealth is the way to play paintball. Speedball just ends up being about who's got the fastest cycling markers and the most paint to spare. At best, speedball might teach you how not to shoot your teammates. If there is a stealth game on, I would be for it.

I have to agree that the Tippman 98, and the whole line of Tippman semi-automatics, for that matter, are great markers, right out of the box. I use a Tippman 98 Custom myself. They are not only tough, reliable, and very affordable, but they are also so popular that there is a near-endless variety of aftermarket upgrades with which you can very easily customize your gun. If you want to buy a paintball gun, look online for the best prices. Requiem can probably recommend some good URL's for this. I have seen used 98's go for dirt on eBay. This may be the best way to go, as a refurbished used gun will be as good, if not better, than a new one.

And no, there is currently no KG paintball team.

Tippmans rock! Plain and simple. I was just saying that for those 'last minute splattmasters' who don't own anything, they can rush out and get almost everything they need in one trip( Gun,mask,9 oz. bottle and hopper). I also agree that woodland is the best.Maybe it's time to change the fact that there is no team?

I've seen the site. It's in my favorites actually. I tried to get some people into the same thing a few months ago, but it didn't take. :-(
Hopefully you'll have better luck? ;-)

I think it's cool, dressing your gear up to look like WW2 gear, and all that, but, as I do not have infinite spare cash, when it comes time to plunk down dough, I would rather buy a Response Trigger for my 98, and make it shoot like a Schmeisser, rather than just look like one. Hell, it kind of looks like one anyway, with that expansion chamber I've added. Hmmm, can't wait to stripe you summinabetches up! :kill:

:matrix: Oh I agree that the marker comes first. There are upgrades that I have to do to my marker first before I get a dress-up kit. I was also fishing for people who may want to do WW2 themed scenarios. Camo is camo and whatever marker a person brings to a game is cool (so those of you with old Splattmasters, Bushmasters, Brass Eagle Stingrays, etc...bring 'em). What matters is people have fun and the more people...the more fun! I've learned not to turn my nose up at someone with a Brass Eagle; it's the person behind the marker, not the marker itself that makes the difference.I don't have a lot of mulah right now because I lost my job. I just thought someone might like the idea for the WW2 thing.

Hey, a topic I know something about. Wheee!

Tippman '98's are the stock marker. If you hear a comparison of markers, and you're not discussing the $1000 models, it's going to be against the 98. It's a staple of the industry, for good reason. Excellent marker...

... however I love my Tornado. :) PG-1 it's also known as. Built like a WWII bunker, it will take just about any amount of abuse without caring. Until it ballchops. Then god help you, you're fieldstripping.

If I ever make it out to Tenn I'd love to get a game up with y'all.

Also, if you're seriously into scenario games, in Pennsylvania, there's a place called Skirmish that runs a few 12 hour/24 hour scenarios a year, and I've heard they're starting to run 72 hour scenarios as well. Just be careful, when the dark falls it turns to bloodsport, as some folks are just outright dishonest about it, sadly.
If you don't know what that sound was, it's usually a good idea to duck.
