Black Ball/Thanks

Post by Seraph Antaine »

I thought I'd go ahead and post it here. Save the KGB the trouble of locking/moving/deleting and whatnot. Thank you all who came to our prototype event in spite of forum drama and venue switches, oh and UT Football madness. There were many not present, whom we missed. There were some who were just not present, as expected. There were also some who said they would not attend who showed anyway. Very cool of you - you know who you are. Also, there were some new people whom I believe none of us knew, especially the ICP kids who lurked around the pool tables all night. If any of you know them, tell them thanks for coming out, but tell them ICP sucks the dead. I really want to thank everyone who helped out at the event, but that is a long list and will have to wait until I am not so tired. I don't want to leave anyone out.

Thanks all for the great night! I for one appreciate the effort that went into all of this, ESPECIALLY after the venue change. It would have been very easy and understandable for those of you putting this on to just say "Fuck it...postponed until next month," but you didn't.

As for the Ballroom itself, like the look of the place - very dungeony. Con - plastic cups :P (Though the barkeep was able to secure us a few wineglasses!)

HeHe...thanks so much for the drink. I've been wondering where the gentlemen that buy the ladies drinks have been lurking...you need to teach some of our young men some of your manners!

Thanks for coming out.

The event rocked. Do it again.

All of you sickos made my throat hurt with your death sticks! ACK! Kill you!

Other than that....

I think it went rather well. I was SO tired from all of the last minute crap that I pooped out about two hours into it. I realized that I should just sit my pregnant ass down and wait it out. Next time, I will be able to enjoy it more.

I want to apologize to anyone I didn't personally thank for coming out and thank you now. I really wish I could have been a better hostess. If I seemed like a complete space case when I talked to you, it was just the circumstances....or so I'd like to think.

We have been offered a weekly night by a couple of venues. Thanks for making that possible. We're going to work on that and let you all know what's going on as soon as we do. We want to give everyone the best venue possible, and there are pros and cons for both. I'd say, at this point, there is a very good chance that we will do this again, soon, and regularly.

Oh, and I have to say that Tony (Seraph) was amazing under all of the stress he was going through (one of his best friends died, unexpectedly). Thank you, baby!

Also, our DJs:

Caustic - you made shit work. I appreciate that more than I can express with words. Your sets rocked, and you put out many fires. You are a true friend, a kick-ass DJ, and a fucking hard worker. You went above what was expected in so many ways. You're just so cool.

Chili - very cool sets, working in requests. Thank you. You're a sweety, to boot. It was great to hear the older goth stuff, yet having it not be the same shit we always tend to hear. Paraphrasing Buttercup, you played Bauhaus, but not "Bela." You played Siouxsie, but not "Peek a Boo." Very nice.

KarlaBOO - a monumental debut. I knew when we hired you that you would rock, but you exceeded our expectations. Oh, and you're all cute and such up there in the booth. Thank you to Arkady, as well, for, despite drama, showing up after a long day's work and helping out.

Barry - you sucked. No, I'm kidding. Barry rocked as our guest DJ, picking up a nice, long set at the end of the night, providing an awesome change in pace. Thank you, also, for providing the movies. We love us some Barry.

Our helpers:

Jeff - Baby, you know you did so much to help out, from the get-go. Without you, this wouldn't have happened. You were an integral part of the success of this night. Again, there aren't words for how much we appreciate all that you did.

Shawn & Doc - You arrived early and stayed late, working most of that time. Thank you, both, for everything. You really made things work so much better than they would have if we didn't have you.

Morgan - Aside from being behind us the whole way with the forum and event, you worked the door and helped us promote. You've been there to say the truth and cut the crap. Thank you.

Sam - Thank you so much for working the door, and thank your lady for allowing us the use of you. I'm sorry we didn't really get to talk, but I was busy with lots of shit when you came in. We love you!

Hillary - Thank you for helping in so many ways along the way. I talk to you so often that it seems really retarded to thank you on here. Nonetheless, I wanted everyone to know how much you helped.

There were many of you who worked putting out flyers and just getting the word out, about the venue change and the traffic. I could sit here all night and list everyone, but would miss a lot of folks. Thank you all. You know who you are. We haven't forgotten your help and ability to lay aside differences to make the night work.

I'm sure I've forgotten things and will remember later. Of course, thank you to the Ballroom for working with us on such short notice.

Thank you, of course, to all of you who came. We'll try to provide an even better event or night next time. Just keep in mind that the last minute changes threw things off a bit. Imagine how much it would have rocked with everything going the way it should have. I'm glad you all had a good time. Thanks!
