Forbidden Love

Post by Liriel »

(This was written from a writing prompt given to me by a friend. The prompt is essentially the title of the poem as well, since I suck at thinking up titles.)

There isn’t much to fear,
Not much to know,
Not much to want,
Not much left but dust.
Embers of a fire that once was alight.
Never mind the empty bottles,
the empty spaces,
discarded ideas and fruitless endeavors.
They are all for naught and you are old.
Nothing is forbidden and nothing sacred.
If I thought to do an idea from a list,
what does it matter?
How many more ticked off before they’re all gone?
Soon they will be empty pages,
strewn on empty tables;
a heart that desires to fall off the edge.
How can it survive?
A mind jaded to all but destruction.
How can I survive?
I don’t want kisses I want your claws in my skin.
I don’t want caresses I want you to rip me apart.
In the end I will regain what I have lost when I give myself to you.
I will find what I was missing in the solace of a few.
All I ask is that you put the blood on your hands;
admit your guilt.
You had to murder me to keep me sane.
You found out what it all means.
I am just a pincushion; use me to lay down your ills.
I am just a brick wall; scream at me until your voice stops.
I am just an animal; you don’t have to understand.
Just entertain me, like anyone with less fire in their veins would;
Entertain me and feed my desire.
See in me, what you cannot be.
