Does PS2 play Euro DVDs?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the US ps2's will play Eruo dvd's?

I'm wanting to get a dvd from Germany but it has a warning about it not playing in US dvd players and i was hoping that i could get around that by playing it on my PS2.... so anyone know if that will work so i don't waist 30 bucks on something that i can't watch...
My thoughts are my bible, that's what I live by.

I have been looking online for that answer...so far...I am pretty much getting a BIG no. It seems you will have to buy a mod chipset to play euro games in order to have a chance. (I do not recomend doing this) I'll let you know if I find out another way.
