This really isn't about anything, just me ranting...

I;m sitting here online, basically dicking around and I was trying to get into my online journal...so I click on my journal site thingy and a bunch of naked girl pics pop up on my screen. Of course this happens to everyone at one time or another. But I was sitting here with my mom, my sister, here 3 year old daughter and their pastor and pastors wife. And I dunno why, but everyone chose to look over at that exact moment and about shit their pants cause they all think I was actually LOOKING at it.
Now, don't get me wrong...I don;t mind naked pics. But everyone acted like I was commiting some imoral sin, and it's not like I even did it on purpose.
Now my mom thinks I'm a lesbian and wants to have a meeting with my dad and her priest and me. And no matter what I say...it's not effin helping.
I am so annoyed, not only at the computer, but at everyone being nosey and looking over my shoulder, and at my mom for not listening to me when I try to explain shit.
Anyways, I just needed to rant, and I thought you all would get a big kick out of it.

That suckz, darlin'! My parentz decided that I must b gay n high school, because one of my friendz waz an admitted lesbian...(& Gawd 4bid, I waz still her friend) Their reaction irked me a lil', but mostly I just laughed my ass off about the whole matter. Suddenly, I no longer had to take their shit about hanging out with guyz all ov the time or my x-tra "friendly" nature with men. Honestly, it wazn't until yearz later that I truly realized my own bi-sexuality. &, no, they still dunno 'bout that (unless my big mouth Sis haz told 'em... I only told her a year ago). It'z just 1 ov the MANY thingz 'bout me/ my life that they need not know nor could could/ would they EVER truly understand or accept. IMO, it'z just another really good reazon 2 keep plenty ov distance the fam & me & let them them hav their ingnorant bliss.

So, r they trying to "heal" you or just put the fear ov God n2 u? LOL [Sorry 2 joke 'bout this (I'm sure that it'z a massive pain 4 u), but I can't help but b amuzed by such clozed-minded, out-moded, & unevolved peepz] Have they never been online & seen such pop-upz b4? Can they not just take your word 4 it? ...& so what if u were a lesbian? What'z it 2 'em? I wish u the best n dealing with this b.s.!

I agree with the stormstress. One of the widely overlooked advantages to being an adult is this. If what you are doing is legal and what you want noones oppion has any effect on you unless you let it. When i figured that out I quit arguing with my parents because I realized I didn't have to. I will listen to advise they offer but, if I have my mind made up about something thats pretty much it. What comes with this is when you do make a wrong choice you have noone to blame but yourself. So choose wisely :p.

I realize most of this doesn't have alot to do with what you are talking about but I feel like ranting hehe. I've had stuff like that happen before though. Just play it off. Most of the time if you act like there isn't a problem it will blow over fairly quickly.

Someone told me if you never click porn links though you'll never get the pop ups. Don't know if that's true...I'm too busy clicking porn links. Mozilla browser seems to block all the pop ups though. Try it?

My freshman year at college (or sometime around then) my mom and I were having an innocent conversation about me and my friends at school. She broke down and said,

"You wanna know what I think? I think you're a pagan and are leading some sort of coven and getting into witchcraft and such."

I looked her dead in the eyes and said,

"well mom, I'm glad to see you consider me a leader in my social group." Then walked off.

Parents are going to think as they wish. I *wasn't* in a coven. Geez we were just a bunch of kids in black. I thought she'd like the fact that they drove from Cookeville to Sweetwater to hang out and spend the weekend, where my parents could meet them. I was a role model to the kids younger than me, kinda like a mom away from home.

But yeah, let it go, next week it'll be something else.

We use the google tool bar. it also stops pop ups.

also google is the _best_ when searching for pretty much anything (you can use the tool bar to search without going to google.com) anyway the url is below

Yeah, my parents are just flat out weird. They "think" they are trying to heal me or something (like it's an ailment) but they just fail to realize that it was an ACCIDENT. They still don't know about my bi-ness either. Actually my best friend doesn't even know. Maybe it's cause I'm not one of those uber-bi people...does that make sense?
Yeah my mom asked me the other day what a web page was and how to work it...so I don't think she would understand the whole pop-up thing.

Yeah,my mom once accused (sp?) me of being a pot smoker because I had bought a black light. We had an "intervention" then, too. I think my parents are just big fans of the intervention. They are like trying to see how many they can have or something.

Like Codeine mentioned, Mozilla (or its smaller, faster cousin, Mozilla Firebird) can block these annoying popups in most instances. They're both free, and I think it'd be worth the effort of installing, considering your situation.
Porn popups can happen from entering just about any site, depending on who put what javascript code where. It really doesn't matter if you have been surfing porn or not - not that I see anything wrong with people looking at porn, to each their own and all that jazz. I could insert pr0n popups into my website or blog if I wanted to be a dick, for instance, and a great many internet users would have no idea why they're suddenly seeing quintuple penetration, using table legs on a Catholic nun. That's the internet; that's life.
I would first suggest explaining to them what happened, in simple, yet technical, terms: you went to a site, and someone sent the equivalent of junk mail onto your screen. If they don't listen to that, club them over the head with a clue-by-four.
If all of this really gets you down, remember: it could have been worse. You could have clicked on one of my links.

Well, it was my brother-n-laws computer (which I found out like 2 weeks ago that he has porn sites in his 'favorites' file, which is just funny since he is married to my sister.) so I'm not even gonna mess woth it.
I have tried explaining it to them, but they are just retarded and won't listen. That's just my parents. But I kinda don;t care anymore. The majority of it is over...even tho I'm still "suppose" to call their priest. :roll:

I've learned not to click your links around anyone other than myself...and not even them sometimes. So I definetly feel lucky that I didn't.
