The walls of the tomb are warm tonight
Someone laughs at the man in the moon tonight
Wolf-child scratches ans whines
at my window crying
tonight tonight tonight
I thought it was forever but
forever was too long
I thought that it was yesterday
But yesterday is gone
Words cut the air so sweetly, so neatly
Winter has turned a cold shoulder
-Her gaze locks him in the dark caverns of her eyes.
Swift eyes, hard eyes
Eyes like a guillotine, full of judgement
She leaves him helpless in his self-made rat trap
And wanders to the other side of the world.
From a lonely oracle she hears the stories,
the midnight tales. Phantoms whisper
their shadowy predictions into her ears.
She does not know who to listen to
and so she runs, as always she runs.
Wolf-child, I cannot run with you tonight.
Your howl speaks of longing
Hanging above you, just out of reach
And I know of longing.
Your howl speaks of hunger
Nights stretched in empty agony
Wordless need assaults you, wolf-child.
And I know of hunger.
Your howl speaks last of lonely
An echo goes unanswered
Roaming the hills in sad solitude
I wonder, wolf-child, if there are others like us?
And I know of lonely.
We are forbidden.
Still I hunt for you, and it is hunting night again.
I stalk you and I capture you but you slip away.
Or are you stalking me?
In the shifting shadows it is difficult to distinguish
the difference.
Wolf-child, wait for me
And we shall be togther.
