National Crafts Month!
May your dreams be the future you could have had, and your nightmares be the realization that you destroyed your chance to make it reality.

I'm currently experimenting in marbelizing a pair of lamps. They're rather pretty Ionic-style pillars, only done in this icky brown... so I hunted down a marbelizing kit (harder to find than you'd think, with faux finishes being "all the rage") and have found myself priming and basecoating one of them (doing them separately in case it turns out horrible. if one doesn't work, then I can try something different on the other). Today I do the marbelizing part, and either tonight or tomorrow (depending on the drying times that I've forgotten) I try my hand at veining. If it turns out well, I'll get and attempt to post before and after pictures of the second.
Next on the project list- an entertainment center needs to have the cream-colored paint sanded off, and depending on the quality of the wood either stained cherry or painted black.
Also, I'm looking for a base to a hutch I bought at a yard sale two or three years ago. Unfortunately, the only things I can seem to find are either 32in wide to the hutch's 36, or 48. Looks like I'm gonna have a wider base, but that's not bad. Both will need to be stained until they're the same color, then room made for them somewhere that isn't the basement.
In between all that, there's another "bookcase" (more a display case, though, since it's only about 12in wide) that has some water damage at the base that I'm hoping to sand down and paint. Add in I need to pull out my sewing machine and experiment with making curtains....
If only I could stand up and start any of this....
