ok, I caught a late showing last night... and I thought it was good. there were a few instances that i could have done without in the film that I thought were pretty cheesy. but for each of those scenes the movie totally redeemed itself with great zombie flesh-eating action. this is bar none the best mainstream zombie movie since the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead (in my opinion). the fx were outstanding as well. just be sure to sit through the credits at the end to see the "true" ending.

:lup: :lup: two thumbs up.

Dawn of the Dead Kix Ass!!!!

Post by Aerick Ravenheart »

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST ZOMBIE FILM EVER MADE!!! At first I was a little skeptical about this retelling of the 1979 cult classic, being one of my favorite zombie movies. But once the movie started, after the first five minutes, I was in love with The Dead. I couldn't take my eyes off of it! And there is a cameo appearance of the original main character on a tv screen saying, "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.", and another cameo of zombie/horror legend Tom Savini. Actress Sarah Polley plays the lead female role, who chillingly looks like the original one. With a solid script, direction, acting, score, and effects with enough blood and guts to satisfy the most diehard of gorehounds, this remake, in my opinion, totally outdid the original. The jam-packed theater was cheering, clapping, jumping, laughing, and commenting to one another all while sitting on the edge of their seats with hands held to mouths. I am highly impressed with this film, and I suggest you go see it on the big screen. It's worth the 8 bucks. ***** Five out of five stars! :)

Agreed.Great movie! Watching other people's reactions around me was almost as much fun as watching the movie.I spent my fair share of time throwing my popcorn around too though and then came home and continued to dream more parts of the movie that wasnt even in there! A definate must see, and much better than the original!

Savini's cameo was awesome. His whole gung-ho cop persona brought a smile to my face.

And Feline... better than the original? I can't go that far. I'm a bit too deep rooted in the classics. But I won't argue with the fact that this a great film that should be experienced by all.

I hope it makes mad money and we get more zombie movies made. the genre is long overdue.

Saw this in Atl this weekend with some friends. It beat my expectations in every way. Really, go see this. I think it is the most fun I've had watching a movie this year. Great effects, great story, great visuals and editing, and, like the original, some characters that you do find yourself caring about. Outstanding movie! I want more!

This was pretty good, a very much worth seeing, Everyone above has already said how great it is so ill balance just a little with some complaints

1. Needed ALOT more guns
2. these people are actually dumber than the originals (ok for some that might be a good point.)
3. Way 28 days. (its transmitted by bites and blood, tranformations happen instantly, it sweeps the planet literally faster then the speed of sound, the zombies arent only fast but they are angry also.)
4. Not sure if I like the ending.

but those are minor problems, here are some extra good points to offer more of a balance.

1. The FX are great (yes you can spot the cg but its zobie cg so who cares)
2. The Cameo's were Awsome!
3. The sound track rocks (hope when its released it actually has the musac version of dont worry be happy :D )
4. nudity!!!
5. Max headroom is in it. (easy casting he already looks like a zombie)

It ruled, even with Richard Cheese's rendition of "the sickness" -Mistress Eve Actually, I thought this music selection was perfect for recreating the campiness and comedy relief sequences of the original. Found it hilarious when they played "kill the celebrity look a like zombies" game! Wow. A must see movie! This zombie film is by far the best made one yet. Fast paced, fun and scary. Loved it! I hope George Romero finally makes "Twilight of the Dead" now.(fingers crossed)
