I have a question:
Do any of you know how to recover from alcohol poisoning?

I've been drunk for two days and hung over for one. I don't know if this is alright or not because I've never had a hangover or anything before. :oops:

Ive been hungover all FUCKING DAY..DAMN JAGERMEISTER AND BOONE'S FARM...drink water (not liqour or beer) and lay off heavy foods and especially avoid heavy smells (like Krystals or a buffett). Hangovers are caused by dehydration, which the alchohol has absorbed too much water in your body. If you had alchahol poisoning you couldnt type. THats where the alchahol in you bloodstream surpasses a lethal limit. You would be catatonic and prolly choking on your own vomit and unresponsive.

THis is the longest I have ever had a hangover........stay strong man, sprite and crackers are your best friend.

I have heard the suggestion to drink a shot of something to get rid of a hangover, but usually when I get one, liqour is the last thing I want. Water, Sprite, and crackers till you can get a functional grip on your motor functions. and lots of pain killers.....well no not lots, I take three excedrin which gets rid of the headache but nothing for my nausea.

Oh and that stupid addage about drinking a glass of water before you pass out, thats BS too. The amount of liqour I consume to manage a hangover, I am quite sure and have proven many times over that a glass of water wont toouch it, Hell 8 glasses of water today and I am still hungover.

water before bed always works for me, but i don't drink that much at one time.

avoid caffiene! coffee, cola, chocolate, many teas, even some pain relievers all have the evil thing known as caffiene. its prolly the 2nd most dehydrating substance on the planet, next to alcohol.

i've heard eating shit like bread, or pancakes, waffles even, all can help. it would absorb the alcohol, but i wouldn't advise that if you will down them with lots of syrup. but again, that should be done before you pass out.

as for the next day, when the hangover is already rearing its ugly head. i've heard eggs or any kind of protein is good. sprite, crackers, toast, plain rice, stuff that easy on your stomach would be best for nausea. i had a friend that would leave a glass of water, 2 advil migaraine, and some crackers next to my bed after i passed out drunk. downed it all as soon as i woke up, always helped.

my hangover cure is Fruity Pebbles, for some reason it always works for me :D

Ok, I know exactly where you are coming from... I can't really give you any good advice that hasn't already been given though. I'm much agreed with the crackers. Any true drinker always has a box of saltines in the kitchen ready for action. I also like ginger ale better than sprite. You've bought the ticket, now you have to ride the ride. And I'm sure we've all had some really unpretty rides at times. lol

Junkie's suggestion sounds like a winner too. I dont know if there is a textbook cure for hangovers. I ate a steak yeserday for lunch,and that covers the protein theory.......it didnt help.
pain releivers,
light food,
clear fluids esp water
breads like pasta, bread, and potatoes.and crackers
Avoid things that are harder on the somach like spicy food,grease, syrupy beverages like coke and the likes.
ANd bright sunlight............sunglasses are your friend too.
Sadly I have to admit, my first hangover, I showered with my sunglasses on.
And be careful on those car rides, most hangovers I wake up still drunk and woozy

on the other hand, a hangover is like instant sick, so whatever you eat to make you feel better when you are sick, sounds like a winner.


I feel it is impossible to sleep through a hangover, with the naseau and pain I am usually awakened way earlier than I should and i cant go back to sleep.

Eh, thanx guys... the water and shower thing worked good for me, and also helped my smell of whiskey and vomit... :lol:

Normally I just drink a lot more until I become sober..."drinking yourself sober works in most cases"...Otherwise I just take some tylenol or some other pain killer and smoke a bit of weed...Then I seem to be ok...=D

smoke pot.

it's an anti-nauseant as well as a pain-killer so it deals with hangovers well. Unfortunately, it dehydrates you as well - so drink some gatoraide or your favorite equivilant. This approach works well for morning-after hangovers, but it's also usefull for keeping you from getting ill while drinking.

Twice alcohol poisoned in 9 years of drinking myself. :woot:

Screw the shower personally, I prefer to steep like a bag of tea in a hot bath. Just have to remember not to fall asleep. There is nothing more pleasurable than lying in the tub, reading, a huge ass glass of water and enough crackers to fill the tub next to you, while you actually feel your body slowly rehydrate (scary thought)

Most importantly, once you're able to move again and be exposed to indirect sunlight, it's a good idea to go around and thank everyone who performed those little kindnesses, such as buying the alcohol, holding your head out of the toilet, carrying you home, and slapping the crap out of you while you were babbling about the radioactive bunny rabbits trying to take over Nashville (don't ask it was a good night).

if you can sit in the sun a little so the shakes dont over take you, and sleep (if this is the results of true AP) if its just your first hang over see the first two items.

Take Advil or some other Ibuprofin (sp?) cause tyenol and anything with Acetomyphin reacts poorly to alcohol. VERY poorly from what i've been told and read. It supposidly speeds up the Serosis of the Liver.

For me I get the headaches a lot, sometime even when I'm drinking. I'm also pretty bad about the dry heaves, so I do this:

Water mainly between drinks or well sometimes IN the drinks

Water before bed
2 complete vitamins
2 Advil
Water by the bed so when I wake up I can drink it and go right back to sleep.

I've had the "Little dwarves with big hammers" hangover A LOT but never so bad after that combo of pills and water.
There is no replacement for displacement.

anytime i've ever drank seriously....i've had poisoning. Eve is correct tho, if you had poisoning, you wouldn't be typing asking for tips.....you'd be like..wishing for the black angel of death to kill you...or puking...or passed out...puking...and subsequently dying.

The best cures for hangovers (i've always heard....and since i've personally only had one...i THINK) is lots of grease covered foods which soak up the toxins in your stomach, and lots of water which cleans out your blood stream.

You could also drink water ALOT before you go out, and you will be hangover free. I think that it ends up taking a little more to get drunk, but i could be wrong...i had a super tolerence anyway, but if i drank my usual amounts of water pre drinking out....it always took just a little more to get me smashed.

The hangover bit is diffrent for everyone...someones surefire approach might not work for you...but so far I've drank my share and to deal with the nasty after effects so far nothing has worked better than pukeing your guts up having another beer with some food like pasta or a sandwich and passing out after a joint....you get rid of the bulk of the toxins when you puke and then just load up on what your body needs to be comfortable and to function well while your under...and sleep all you can afford to..water is good too...
