Man on Fire

Post by snarfcat »

I just saw this on Sunday.

Very good, very violent.

They spoke in spanish for some of the time and the way they did the titles, especially as the movie progresses is wonderful.

The camera work is not run of the mill, and is not like typical action movies. It emphasizes the appropriate moments in the movie by erratic movement and wonderful zooming. I don't know technical terms for camera work but anyway it's awesome.

Do not take someone with you to see this movie if they do not like violence. Several people are tortured and killed in this movie, but they have the grace to not show every bit of it as graphically as they could.

It is heart felt and made me sniffle at the end, but then I sniffle about everything...

the acting is wonderful, Denzel did a phenominal job... as did everyone else really.

highly recommended. Very long though. not in a bad way (it's worth every minute), but if you have to pee and hour and a half into it, go. you'll be dying by the end.
"I'm sorry... You met me at a very strange time in my life."
