So where does one sign up for the Ultimate Goth Makeover?

And why shouldn't we talk about fashion???

So where does one sign up for the Ultimate Goth Makeover?

Post by LordHades »

Cause, you know, there should be a contest where every Sanctus someone whose look just isn't working for them is selected, and they get a team of experts to give them the ultimate Goth makeover before the next Sanctus, where they get shown off as an example of the good KG can do for you. (At the winner's expense, of course ;) )

Cause.. Umm.. I'd sign up :P

I willingly make over anyone that will let me (just ask my husband) but I can't guarantee you will end up as an ultimate goth.....

*laughs* Well, perhaps that was overstating the case slightly :P But still, a little bit of fashion-concious assistance could hardly hurt those of us still struggling with the difficult concept of shades of black.

If you are going to turn this into a contest type of thing you need to have judges, and they have to be on their game at all times sense they are the ones passing judgement on who needs it the most. Also the person that gets picked will have to be willing to undergo such a change. I say at the next sanctus we have a signup sheet for contestants, pull them up on stage, let the crowd pick who needs it the most and after a los........I mean winner is picked they are put in the hands of the makeover artists whith which they mold you into some resmbalence of what is considered goth. But then again I just love a spectical.

or we could do the EXTREME Goth Makeover using the following areas

fashion-make-up - The Obvious wardrobe appearance makeover
attitude/angst - Gothic Manners Coaching
music appreciation - Obscure music for the gothic elitist
dancing - How to dance like a Goth in 6 easy steps
consumables - Drinks/cloves ect to best accessorise the new you.

I'll take the Dancing and Wardrobe help anytime. For some reason, I can play some of the most complicated rythms; but, have a hell of a time getting my body to move to a rythm. Anyone who knows me would agree about the wardrobe. I have plenty of black, just nothing that looks all that great.

I definately could use a make over and coaching. My wardrobe and appearance are pathetic to say the least. I would definately be up for some fashon advice/help/hints.

Just be yourself. Wear what you are comfortable in. As someone in another thread mentioned, just darken it up a bit if that is your inclination.

A makeover is best suited to people that can get away with that look. Personally, I cannot. I'm short, bald, "heavy set," and wear glasses - I am NOT going to look like Peter Murphy or Marilyn Manson regardless of what I wear. But, I do like simple black clothes / suits in the winter. When it's warm, I go Hawaiian. Not terribly "gothic" but it is me.

Bah, sometimes you just want a change of pace, to be the center of attention for a moment, and a little critique never hurt anyone :) I'm all for the help, and will be giving it a shot if it ever comes together.. oh wait, I started it.. does that mean it's my responsibility to coordinate something?

Well then, I appoint Ms.Tangeldwebs and, umm.. Stormstress! To positions of ultimate power regarding the gathering of volunteers, contestants, judges, etc.. And if they don't wanna, then.. Hrmm.. I dunno.. Anyone wanna volunteer?

I'll volunteer for this as well...it would be funny as hell to see myself after a "goth" makeover....but I want pictures for sure..outside of that I can maybe help with the attitude coaching...I think that goth like punk is all in the attitude...

Hell, I'll sign up for a makeover. I need a lot of change in my life right now and that might just be the start of something dark, sinister and a hell of a lot more fun than I've been having.
