Popeyes vs Bojangle's

Post by Zeo »

So I didn't get my Popeyes fix on the Atl. trip this time around.
I always have to have some of their spicy Cajun chicken when I'm down that way, loves me some Popeyes, but ended up eating elsewhere for what ever reason.
On the way back though, I wanted my fix. I didn't realize that Chatti has a Popeyes at the time, tummies where growling at me and the Russo on 75 - N when I saw a sign for Bojangle's coming up on Dalton. I figured it was the last ditch chance for some spicy chicken on the way back and a change from the numerous KFCs in K-town.
It was a few miles out of the way, but I had never had Bojangle's before so I figured "fuck it, why not".
Mostly their menu consists of chicken-in-a-biscuit sandwiches, and breakfast stuff, but I've never been a fan.
I ordered a wing and thy meal Cajun style. The crust was not as crispy as Popeyes and the only thing remotely Cajun in the batter mix seems to be Tabasco sauce. I really didn't like the mashed potatoes at all and ended up not eating much of them. They were supposed to have gravy in them but instead there were just little chunks of sausage and it was just kinda bleh.
Hot damn their buttermilk biscuits were good though. That was really the only redeemer.
Overall their chicken is alright, but not nearly as good as Popeyes.

Popeyes is the shiznit. Don't be tempted by the Bojangle's sign when coming through Dalton. There is better chicken up ahead.

I've had bad food at both places. In East Ridge(Chattanooga), the Bojangles fucking ROCKS!!! However, in Jackson, TN, the Popeye's is much better. It all depends on which pimple face teen they have in the kitchen, i suppose.
I'm Jewish. I don't work out. If god had wanted us to bend over, she would have put diamonds on the floor.
