New Orleans won the vote for Convergence 12. Who's going?

This just looks awesome
My only gripe is about the timing that they chose for Convergence. The events that they have planned so far look like fun, but April is one of the more expensive times in the city of NOLA for hotels. Although, having been there over Easter weekend of this year (which fell in March when things were still a little cheaper), its a nice time of year to visit the city. I'm going to plan on going at this point, but I'm going to scope out other hotels in the area before settling for the rate at the Monteleone. I give them great credit though. That's an awesome rate for that hotel, and the hotel is rumored to be haunted to boot.
Of course, my other giggle at the timing is that they placed it at the same time that Goth Con used to occur down there.
Silent Film Wine Tasting
Want to whet your whistle and hobnob with friends before getting ready for the final event? We'll be featuring a delicious selection of wines hand-picked by our own personal wine snob. Explore your palate and take a look at some of the best silent horror films if you aren't too busy talking.

Thraaaaaalllll.....
Since it doesn't look like I'll get to go to Europe anytime soon, perhaps we should look into vending at this here shin-dig. Then perhaps it'd be tax deductible...muhahahahahaa..
I don't know...I'm still nervous about being around a bunch of pretentious fucks...which I'm always afraid of when going to a bigger city. Oh, wait, I am one of those...
Didn't have that prob in Philly so I'm sure it'll be fine in NOLA.
I have never had any desire to go around Mardi Gras, but I've always wanted to go because I <3 historical structures and such...
