My name is Wes and I just discovered this site this evening and thought that I would perhaps introduce myself although I warn you I'm notoriously bad at this sort of thing, I never know what to say and do tend to ramble so you'll have to excuse me if you will. I've lived in the Knoxville area for about 9 months now though I've had little time to meet anyone outside of the people I live with and those I have worked with and know very little more about the area. I moved here from Dothan, Alabama. A rather small little city in the southeastern corner near the borders of Florida and Georgia. As to why I moved here, my best friend since high school and his wife (also a friend from high school) moved up here some time ago with my goddaughter and after much persuasion and a short visit convinced me to move up here with them after I decided to call it quits on a floundering business venture back home. I have to say although I know Knoxville isn't the most glamorous place on earth that in comparison to where I'm from I'm quite pleased with it overall at least what little I've experienced as of yet.
I'm a Gemini, and yes I do take astrology somewhat seriously as I've found it to be fairly accurate in personality profiling over the years (though I hold very little stock with daily forecasts). As such my tastes in all things tend to run the spectrum of diversity. I've yet to meet any genre of music I find totally distasteful though I certainly have my preferences. A thumbnail sketch (which is all I can give without boring you to tedium with a list unending) of my favorite musicians would include: The Changelings, Tori Amos, Concrete Blonde, Rush, Dead Can Dance, The Cure, Poe, Aqua, Cowboy Mouth, Ani DiFranco, Disturbed, Placebo, Jack Off Jill, Patsy Cline, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Madonna. I also tend to be a voracious reader mostly leaning towards sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, but I certainly wouldn't dare to profane any of the literary genres. A few of my favorite authors include, Neil Gaiman, Poppy Z. Brite, Anne Rice, Kurt Vonnegutt, Frank Herbert, Terry Pratchett, Marrion Zimmer Bradley (though as yet I've only read Mists of Avalon it moved me so much I would feel remiss not to include her), Brian Lumley, Christopher Rice, Caitlin R. Kiernan, and Laurell K. Hamilton. I'm also a poet as the mood takes me though I wouldn't venture to say I was any good at it. I do also enjoy a good movie, and have been watching quite a few of late, but to a much lesser extent than a good book or song, and could really hardly name any favorite screenwriter/producer/directors other than perhaps Sam Raimi and Joss Whedon.
Oh, and I suppose I should mention the little things like I'm 24, and gay, and an eclectic pagan (to make it simple at least, it's really much more confusing than that, but then isn't it always?) oh and male, but none of that matters half so much as my musical and literary tastes if you were to ask me.

Anyways, I suppose that's about all I can think of to put in an introduction though I'm always open to any questions if anyone can think of anything I might have left out. I hope I haven't bored you too terribly much with my egocentric prattle.
