Saw it Wednesday night at Wynnsong 16.
Haven't read the book yet, so I went in to see the movie without any expectations. Tragically beautiful movie. I know some will hate it and some will love it. But as with every movie, it's not for everyone. One of my favorite scenes was the fan dance. There are more favorites, but I don't want to spoil the movie.

The movie was alright, but I had read the book first and thought the book was SO much better. There was so much more depth and a character you get to know and relate to. The book also gives a lot more detail on what goes on in the teahouses. The movie rushed over a lot of events that were explained in great detail in the book. I highly reccommend the book--it's beautifully written and very poetic. The movie's worth seeing too but I'd reccommend seeing it after reading the book.
