Musicians Needed! i.e. talented insane gear owning people

Post by junkie christ »

do u hate modern music? are u tired of hearing bands that have a "sound" or a gimmick or any of that other shit that has no point and doesnt actually try to be meaningful to anyone? the antigenre has arrived. join the_g0ne.
then join our preformace art troop of hatred as we present the carnifall of hate.Wow. You actually came to view this thread. That must mean you are or know someone who is ... a musician. Probably broke as us too. This is music for the people the way it should be done. Loud, in your face to totally fuct and to be puzzled over. Concept driven music with a point. and yes we do have a point. and an agenda. and connections if we can just get bloody members...
Currently have a few people talking to a few people about all open positions, but im sick of it so im asking your help. Currently have access to alot of the needed gear, one songwriter who plays more instruments than he can count whos singing and playing some extra guitar and one automaton of hatred with a metronome built into his skull to go with his drum kit.
Band currently writing 2 concept albums need members...
Keys, guitar, bass welcome to contact me.
Very experimental and genre ripping. Loud, alot of it angry (anger varies from scarastic stabs to full out hated). Concept driven, music comes from punk, experimental, cabaret rip offs, industrial, some metal, electronic, goth, postpunk, disney music, aggression, hate, hate, alice in wonderland, sexual frustration, sex, detuned mayhem, WW2 marches, blues, godless-noize!!, grindcore, strip club music, porn, alkie induced hallucinations, ectect. total diversity is the context here, and i really meant all listed in that list. theres no genre safe from being touched, no influence we wont go into. and we need your help to finish it or ill be reznor-ing this shit for the next decade.
guitar: own gear. be able to play it. guitar techniques include everything from punk downstrokes, pinch harmonics, triple picking, jazz chords, noize/feedback playing, and whatever else u feel like adding in. what weve got wrote already is a total fucking BLAST to play. be as ok with playing fast as your are slow and be ok with the word GENRELESS.
bass: please. we own a bass and some heads if u got a cab and can play.
keys: no real experience or gear required. i own ALOT of keys. REALLY BASIC. this is the show up stoned position in the band. any other instruments u can play, your welcome too. stranger the better. extra percussion is in your future. alot of this is dramtic key press and samples. knob twitching shit.
remember, we do write the base of alot of the songs, your input as a member finishes them. we just kinda lay the paydirt around the lyrics, concepts.
it does come out really loud and really angry. we will definitly be if nothing else the loudest band in the state once the lineup is complete. and we dont supply plugs at practice, bring your own.
reply here, or contact me or nemesis,
this is nonprofit (for awhile anyway) and open for discussion.
we also need graphic artists for artwork.
hope the world is ready for our brand of godless noise.
flip back thru my xanga for more information, its in the may 29th entry (link is in my sig, scroll back to it)
thx.- JC.

I am just taking a break from working on my first CD. :woot:

 I volunteer for the Keys (cough - show up stoned - cough :haha:)

I'm a bit of a bastard though and anal as hell when it comes to production. If you have a set,I can play drums but prolly not as good as CotD's Boi.

I think it's almost time for me to finally start that record label.

I my self have had this problem and i am also working on a progect with no one with motivation to work with. we may be able to help each other out. i am good with keys, sampling, odd shit and highly experimental bullshit. i have equipment but need more. i will work for trade off music. i suggest that we help each others projects and see where it goes.

the keys in this range from single note apr. runs to full piano to background noise. sometimes it dominates, sometimes its submissive and barely there. its not really a keys intensive project, but alot of parts of it will get that way after we get a dedicated keys player (but theres alot of keys to be played either way, so dont let that give you the wrong idea!). i think at points in pretty much everysong the keys are going to be making their own synthetic orchestra of shit..... but same with every other instrument. trying to let no instument dictate anything yet... if that doesnt turn you off.... (hope not, but rather be honest than u show and hate it from the first swing).. ive barely wrote any keys outside of melodies to go with some riffs and harmonies. theres 2 or three songs with keys wrote, and even that can is left pretty open. the rest is just naming the types of patches or programs needed and letting ya play with it till it works and we all agree on it. that may be alot more or less than we plan, its a learning experience adding keys into this experiment every time i add them. some people get their lines down and wont play em. others dont even do that.
ill talk with both of u about it and i hope one of ya decide we can get some music outta the deal. whoever fits it and wants to do it is in as far as we are concerned.

drums we have, nemesis is covering that very beyond my expectations. but i greatly appreciate that offer. thats a rare one. i am glad u brought that up because ive discussed setting up an extra percussion ring involved with the keys player for parts in songs where we cant fit keys over everything else....... keeping u playing and keeping the music 10 steps ahead of anyone else.
were u the guy that played foozball (spelling??) with spam and me and guy whos name i never got @ 80s night @iveys ?? i could be wrong but i think thats u they said u were.
DEFINITLY talk to me at sanctus. because if not fot this, for some other things we have in the wings id like to talk to you about... but id like to talk to both of u about keys, see if your into it. its something i can describe easily seeing as how we cant finish songs without bass and keys to record demos fairly... at any rate theres some things id like to talk to both of u about.
and as for the show up stoned thing, fuck that ill throw in with ya ....
bastards help songs get finished and if your more anal than me when recording, id work with it just to see it. that works fine. i have a mix of punk rawk lets do it and tweaker from hell in the studio and i find the two balance. a mix of one takers and precision works.
if u need any extra instruments on you CD, pm me or post it in this thread. gets to me at the same speed, would love to help. and also is that a record label you say?? we have alot we should talk about.....

will u be at sanctus and do u know me to look for me? if not, ask around (junkie christ is my moniker off the board as well, i go by JC)
and what problem is it that youve had? i mentioned a few in my mind, but goes knows how it read to others... trade offs i have NO problem with seeing as how after we start playing shows im encouraging members to join other bands so we can play shows strictly in our family of music/musicians. create your own following and share gear, everyone wins and its a more diverse crowd. i play ALOT of shit, but i specialize in guitar, bass, vocals, and enough keys to get by without looking to bad. i just dont have the type of keys i need to shine there.... i do own a bit of them though. plus we only play on weekends for now anyway... so its easy to work around

thx to u both for offering and i think we can help each other out in someway, i just hope SOMEONE that fits joins, both offers are fucking great and i want to talk to both of you more about it... whoever really just hits it off gets it. im now up to three maybe four people saying they want to do it and i want to make contacts for other things outta everyone else, where it stands your all equal to me. if i could talk to ya both at sanctus about that would be grand... if you cant there, PM me and we can exchange numbers. just get ahold of me this weekend either way. we are playing saturday, maybe sunday so we can lock some songs to add keys to. so next weekend is when we will start testing the waters with keys. should be a blast for anyone who makes it down..
either one of u would probably work better than i ever dreamed the shit up, now lemme meet up with you and see who fits the bill for what we need and what you want. i am going to make sure that we get someone who digs this shit like we do either way and its in the formative phases still in a way so its all open for discussion. but outside of this band theres otherways maybe we can help one another. so lets all see what we can do for each other here.
thanks again, respond soon (hopefully in the thread to keep it up so we can try to talk to some guitar players too.... now their job is gonna be fucking tough...). when all this shit is up and running there will be alot of bands, members, slots, whatever and id like to keep everyone intrested in mind for everything by knowing everything they are wanting to do.....
peace thru addiction. addicition brings death,

Things I am good at:

Anything Keyboard related (soundscapes, composition, drum programing, arps)
Experimental guitar generated soundscapes
I sing
Live sound engineering/PA setup and recording engineering
building very clean loops and samples
I have lots of equipment that either belongs to me or is at my disposal.

In reality, I can play just about anything. It may not be the way the insturment was inteded to be played but so what.

Drummers!

Post by abreeskye »

I swear, drummers have to be one of the HARDEST positions in a band to fill!

Judas....you play drums????

We have tried to find a drummer around here. They either have drug problems, alcohol problems, motivation problems, or music isn't their priority. Hmph.

I play guitar poorly.

I play bass poorly.

But, I do have good timing! :) lol. At least I try. The only reason I still fuck with a guitar, is because I enjoy it. I will probably never play guitar in a band, because I suck. I write alot on guitar, though.

I play keyboards. I didn't realize there were so many keyboardists around here.

I do some vocals, although, I dislike them. Some people like them, though. I don't. Heh.

We've got 5 guitars, one non-working, one a cheap ass piece of shit, one an acoustic electric, and my bc rich mockingbird, and bc rich warlock, (I love both of those) I want to get an Ibanez next. And, eventually a Jackson.

We have a shitty bc rich bass, which only works like 25% of the time. It shorts out at the most inopportune times, like when recording for example.

We have 2 Alesis Keyboards, and an alesis drum machine.

I fucking hate drum machines. Don't mind playing with them, but I get so annoyed programming them.

We've been looking for a drummer, guitarist, and bassist. Sigh. Will it ever happen? Probably not. It seems noone wants to really do what we do. Except for old friends that live *FAR* away.

Hurm, amazing how addictive playing music is becoming in my life 8-)

U HAVE AN ALPHA JUNO 1!?!? neato! ive played on some of the juno models pre(juno60) and post(juno106) midi.... but never on an alpha... i just wonder how it compares in the parallel. a keyboardist in a band i sang for a few years back had the most ungodly line of 80s synths.......::drool:: even a functional korg polysix. u can milk moog sounding shit outta that without thinking.
i may PM u about helping arrange some samples into a single track (i.e. run into yours into my shitbox sampler or onto cd for later recall....).... ill get back to u on that... neato.
gear list.
keys: i use a roland xp30(no sequencer. that aspect sucks but it was a great deal when i got it... and its got 3 exp boards standard in it plus the two im gonna add in a few months), a microKorg analog (cheap and worth EVERY penny but not as cool as the older korgs), and the electribe-A analog unit (the analog synth engine in it for that price being able to sample internally and sequence is unheard of for that price. worth EVERY penny....). ive got a shitbox sampler Boss put out but i cant recal serial on it and dont feel like moving right now to look it up, ive owned and sold a ton of drum machine and other synth engines but currently thats my keys and my drum machine was destroyed....(really funny story though...)..
guitar: an vast array of remade custom jobs (too hard to list.. main axes are an ESP im rebuilding next month with my pickup design, a schecter 7 string that i had mods done to, and an old kramer explorer we gutter and rebuilt with crazy wiring and old bill lawerance blues humbuckers.... recording only foor that one...), crate blue voodoo and marshal heads, gibson vintage cab and crate bluevoodoo cab. TONS and TONS OF EFFECTS but only about half are working because of my old bassist and his tendancy to destroy vintage effects.....
bass:an old studio work bass peavey used to put out as their high class bass,,,, strangest bass tone known to man and the only good bass product they ever made. you wont believe that company made it when u hear the range of tones produced.
also own 2 p.a. heads and a full 24 (I THINK ITS 24..its new) power mixer for demo work and mass input management.... also thinking of buying a bass rig too. music is addictive shit. esp considering ive never worked in a music store and accquired all this shit.
theres more but i cant think of what
sweet.... if i need anything ill talk with you (errr.....when )
thanks!!!!!
