If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

President Ford

Post by Mother Mo »

Former President Ford disagreed with the war in Iraq & its handling, but kept his dissenting opinion private. Now that he's dead, that private opinion has become public. He had some especially interesting views on Cheney's changes since working in the Ford administration. Perhaps his posthumous comments will be taken to heart by Cheney & gang.

May he rest in peace.

You know, I have a problem with this.

Had Ford said something publicly, before the war started, it might have done some good.

After all, a former president standing up and saying "Shrubbie, you're making a mistake. Don't do this. It will end very badly for the nation." would have made a huge media impact, and might have even gotten Shrubbie's attention.

As it is, we're stuck in a very expensive war, with no end in sight, and no chance for a positive outcome for anyone concerned.

I absolutely agree, but at least its being made known now rather than hidden away. Georgie boy obviously doesn't listen to the American people and I wouldn't really expect him to start anytime soon, but Dick & Gerry were tight & Gerry's criticism of Dick probably stings like hell. I like that.
