I need to just focus and learn how to use my sewing machine. I'm not allowing myself to buy any fabric or patterns til I finish this apron I was going to try.

hehehe,
i used to make my own clothes, but its been years since i've dont anything othert than small alterations,
i went though like 6+ months ago, and bought oodles of awesome fabrics and a couple patterns,
then realized it was just over my head now ,
and i was better off sticking with what i'm comfterble with (clay/metal/glass/jewelry)

other than what i use for the basic stuff i can do,
i've givenaway/sold most of hte fabrics i had, (that i was willing to part with!)

Haha, JoAnns had their butterick patterns on sale for 1.99 each and I bought two corset patterns and one parasol pattern. Then i realized, hey, I can't fucking sew, and I took them back.

crafster is great for trading out art supplies you dont want for ones you do,
i jsut traded away a corset/burlesque-ish type set of patterns,& probably 30+ yards of fabric for lots of polyclay & tools, which i'm very happy about!

one of the best swaps is the ongoing offer what you have, you offer 5+ crafty items (or finished things) and one person chooses from you, then they put up their list,
i've gotten some awesome stuff (like a speed ball screen printing set)

i've also gotten mucho information and help when i need it (especially when i was yelling at the sewing machine)

*nods*

I keep stock piling fabric, and patterns, as well. That was one of my New Year Resolutions, to learn how to use this machine. I've made two skirts, and two VooDoo dolls for one of our numbers on it. I have more room now, so I'll either keep stockpiling, or buckle down and make some things.

I've come so close to buying from them.

I've bid on the fishnet fabric they have from time to time. I'm too thrifty to bid too high, so I lose out. lol.

I love the splatterskull fabric they have sometimes.
