96 toyota paseo 4 cyl 1.5 L manual

30 mpg city

35 mpg country

When I've done the math I got 33 mpg so I'd say thats about right.

I didn't know manual transmissions got better gas mileage.

Mine is an '86 Jaguar Vanden Plas (XJ6) and the site says 15 City 19 Hwy. It's pretty much dead on.

My wife's car is an '89 XJ6 and the site says 17 city and 23 hwy, but she actually gets around 26 hwy, not sure about city though.

My 95 Civic rates at 29/36 avg of 32

That is right on. I keep track of every tank, and I'm averaging 33.4 MPG for this year.

yeah, it says my tahoe gets about 13 avg.

that's about right.

but you can't beat the chevy small block 350 for reliability - it's rapidly approaching 300k miles, and the motor runs like new. nothing but oil changes.

2001 Saturn SL average is just about right on. I'm getting 30.6 per gallon per tank and they said 31. Probably need a tune up.

10W40. My typical rule was whatever's cheapest, but I did decide to switch to full synthetic at the last oil change, because I'm bad about not changing it on schedule. I went with the synthetic that was on sale that day.

It says that my 2000 Focus gets 25 city, 33 hwy. Until I moved out here, I actually got a bit better mileage than that, but that's about accurate now.

The thing that just makes my jaw drop, though is that on average my car (which is among the "best") puts 6.4 tons of CO2 into the air per year. Personally, I probably put a bit less out there because I don't drive as much as the average person, but... it probably doesn't make a *huge* difference.

I just think it's really sad that the best our engineers can do is *tons* of CO2 per year.

Kind of but not really related:

My GF drives a biodiesel Mercedes. It actually does put out a funny smell, but a few weeks ago, the stupidest thing happened. This guy driving behind her made a big deal out of gesturing to her like he was coughing; putting his hand around his throat and flipping her off. Eventually he pulled over, and was waving his hand in front of his face like he was waving away toxic fumes.

When she told me about it, I asked her what he was driving.

"Some SUV."

Figures.
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

My Echo gets 32 city/38 hwy. I know a lot of people make fun of my car, but with that kind of efficiency I could care less.

I have a 2000 focus as well. I usually get around 30-33 mpg. I really don't do long distance driving. I am lucky that i mostly do short 3 mile drive to and from work. The most that i might drive would be about 40 miles to my parents house or about 45 miles to Athens or so. I have over 118k miles on her too. I plan on keeping it til it dies.. Heck its paid for and all tht. :)
I smile because it confuses people
