Untitled J.J. Abrams Project

Post by Russo »

So if you saw Transformers this week (I didn't), you also got to see the trailer for an unnamed movie about something nobody can seem to figure out (watch it on Youtube).

There's an in depth viral marketing campaign for it. Solve the puzzles to find the secrets.

A lot of people speculate that it's another Godzilla movie ( ), but considering the Lovecraftian alphabet puzzles, my bet is on Cthulhu.
If she were a street gang, I'd go to war with her with bottles and chains.

I saw the trailer...and it piqued my interest!

I've watched all the messages but number 4....I'm going to be on the lookout for it.

one of the guesses online now seems to swing toward Cloverfield. Wiki has a article on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield

Working through the puzzles right now...Funzies.

Here is one of the many links to the trailer....not sure how long this one will be up, lol.

Paramount keeps making people take it down!

Well, I cracked the puzzles on EthanHaaswasright.com, and I entered my e-mail to receive an update on August 1st. I can't figure out if 1-18-08 is a puzzle, though. The picture of the girls has a (not-so) hidden demon in it, AND it seems to be the same girl, just split in half. I'm not sure of the significance of the party picture, but if you flip it upside down, it will start rotating back to it's original position.

I've noticed that both the pictures move around.

I still haven't attempted the puzzles, lol.

I can see what appears to be a demon between the two chicks faces, but I'm not so sure that it's meant to be there. I don't think it's the same girl though...I think it's two different girls.

People are going nuts over this shit! I mean, I've even read people thinking that the party picture...to the far right....that the person 'with no body' is just a floating head...LOFL!

I guess we'll get more info on August 1st!

But Doug had a good point...Comic Con is coming up...BEFORE then. And, I believe JJ is a guest....Is he going to be releasing more info then?

I saw the trailer and I have to admit Godzilla was my first thought.

Altho I would much rather a Cthullu movie.

however....I'm torn. If we could make a GOOD american GZ flick without that faggot from the first attempt....I'd be just as pleased :)

I've seen that picture too...but I'm still not 100% convinced...I mean, the only things holding me back from believing that could be the same chick, is the fact that the skin tone is different, and the eyes are a different shape.

But, I'm aware that noones eyes are a perfect match to one another.

Who knows....it's interesting regardless!

Godzilla was my first thought too. But I don't believe that so much now.

Cthulhu would be fucking AWESOME, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I'm hoping at the very least it's a totally new thing, if not cthulhu.

It's fucking crazy....none of the actors were allowed to even read the scripts...or ONE SCENE until they signed on!

It's crazy how well under wraps this thing is being kept.

And did anyone else read they didn't start filming until June something or other? They have 6 months to finish this movie?!?

I don't get too much into publicity crap like this...but I think it looks like the same girl. The nose and mouth are perfectly symmetrical, they eyes look different because she's just slightly adjusted the position of her eyes, and the eye on the left has some dark makeup or shading or something...

On AICN tonight....Harry posted a message he got from JJ:

*****

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your support of our little movie. I can't wait to talk to you more about it -- of course, knowing you, by the time we talk you'll know more than I will.

Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we're doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn't kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat's about what's online? So as you can imagine, we're focusing mostly on THAT. For what it's worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.

Stay cool the rest of the summer -- and thanks per usual for AICN!

JJ

So....hmmmmm.....the puzzle site and the blog site have nothing to do with it? And there are sites out there that haven't been found yet...which is verrry interesting!

Also, the official teaser (not phone captured, lol) is online now!

When you look at it this way, it looks a lot more believable to me!

I guess a lot of the other pictures are a bit more close up...

I'm not buying it. Paramount made Youtube users take down both the trailer for 1-18-08 and the videos from the Ethan Haas site, so Paramount has a connection to both sites. And I think it's rather odd that a movie studio would be releasing TWO still-untitled movies about the destruction of New York within the same year. I guess we'll have to wait until August 1st to find out for sure.

the other sites have gotta be related
theres just no way.
now im looking around on this thing alot to.
the only things ive read for certain is "cloverfield" is the working title and not the final title and 1-18-08 is the release date
that really is the best teaser trailer ive ever seen though
this movie BETTER NOT SUCK.

I saw the trailer for this movie in the theaters when I went and saw transformers and I have to admit they have a pretty good marketing thing going on. I give them props for that.
