i have read this several times and i still can't figure out what you are trying to say.
we all know the 'nice guy' can't be the 'bad boy'. so if it is a misconception that they can; then why are you pointing out that the complete package has both qualities, showing them at different times?

i don't understand you're point.

the complete package= the perfect man
the perfect man= figment of the imagination

no guy is perfect, as is no woman. yet, we still wait/ wish/ hope/ dream that one day this prince, that we dreamed up as a little girl (along with the perfect wedding dress, perfect names for their kids, and perfect home) after watching too many disney movies, will show up.
not going to happen.
so, you have to lower the standards and go with whats more important. can't find tall, dark, and handsome even though thats whats you've always wanted, gonna have to settle for tall and handsome.

blabla, this is all redundant and i am rambling. everyone already knows this shit. so i'm going to stop typing.

oh wait, while i'm on the subject i would like to interject that i've yet to meet a "nice guy" thats worth a shit in bed.
is that a misconception as well?

I am a nice guy, but I balance that with being a little off kilter. Just be yourself and eventually someone will give a shit. As far as nice guys sucking in bed, that changes when they get to know you. With enough intimate contact the nice guy becomes the sexyest man you know because they have payed attention to what you like, repeat it on a regular basis and like to keep you happy on a regular basis (mostly becasue the nice guy is slightly co-dependant). The bad boy is a short term investment of a couch, smokes, and food. The nice guy is a long term investment of emotional support, accurate communication, and indulgence in things that you like. Oh what a hell that would be. Two people helping each other, being honest with each other, and doing things that both people enjoy. That is so horrid sounding. So let us review:
Nice guy= listens so they can repeat the pleasurable and stop doing what pisses you off
Bad boy= is good in bed because they have to whore around, and could give two shits about what you want.

but seriously, wtf do i know about what women want, i've never fallen into "standard" woman mode anyway...

The concept of a "nice guy" (or "nice woman" for that matter) is entirely subjective, and hence not very fun to debate, in my book.

I mean, I'd bet some think a "nice guy" is someone who can listen to them, hold them, give them enough sex, and then cuddle afterwards. While others might think a "nice guy" is someone who doesn't cut their face off and wear it as a halloween mask on the first date.

Like I said: entirely subjective.

Ah let the gender wars begin...but seriously I put alot of stock in what merc had to say...the only thing I would add is that in every man as in every women are all these things...we have just gotten lazy and begin to lower our standards...gwen had it right no man is perfect but the amount of effort you put into improving yourself...for your own sake....is about how good of a catch your gonna be...it's just a byproduct of a productive happy life...if you want all these qualities in someone else get them in yourself and your mate will inevitably have them as well because people tend to date in there own class...not finding someone up to your standards??...are you up to your standards??...as always in life before you talk shit about someone else check yourself...oh yea one good thing I think about the posts on this is we all seem to have a good sense of compromise...that and good communication(Merc) are probably the two most important aspects of a good relationship(aside from compatability)anyways Im starting to sound like doctro phil...(granted I have more hair) but anyways this has been great...keep coming with it ....I may have a program demo come out of this....
We werent the nice boys they thought we were..we arent nice boys..we were fuckin nasty little bastards...and we still are...Sid Vicious

Absolutely! There are various flavors of insanity & some go better together than others, to be sure, but it's all about your own tastes in the end. ;)
